Troop 4 is a very active outdoor troop, having campouts every month (except July and August). Campout events are varied and the scouts have a great deal of input into the planning.
For each campout, a colored bead is awarded to each participant that is worn on a necklace or bead string. The color of the bead commemorates the weather conditions encountered on the campout or the nature of the event. See the Bead Guide below for a description of the various colors.
Bead Color -- Meaning
Black --- Rain
Blue --- Good Weather
Purple --- Below Freezing
Clear --- Below Zero
Red --- Summer Camp
White --- Snow
Yellow --- District Event
Light Blue --- Council Event
Green Marble --- Council JLT
Pink --- OA Ordeal Weekend
Brown --- High Adventure (except Philmont)
Green --- Philmont
